Get reimbursed for part of your membership fees

Did you know that you can get reimbursed for part of your union fees? The FNV has made an agreement for this in a lot of CAOs. To do this, simply download your annual fees statement and submit it to your employer.

Download your annual statement

This is how it works

  1. Download, print, and sign your annual statement.
  2. Submit the annual statement to your employer or the human resources department. Most employers require you to submit the annual statement before mid-November, but it may be later in some cases. You should therefore always check with the company you work for.
  3. Your employer will settle the benefit and ensure that you get it back. This is usually added as a one-off payment to your gross monthly salary or year-end bonus.

Am I eligible for a reimbursement?

In most CAOs it has been agreed that our members can claim back part of the union fees they have paid from their employer. Want to know if this also applies to you? Check your CAO.

Check your CAO

  1. Check out your CAO on this page.
  2. Look for the scheme in your CAO and see whether an agreement has also been made in your CAO.
  3. The scheme may have a different name. Search for “tax benefit”, “settlement of union fees”, “multiple choice employment conditions system”, “employment conditions exchange”. You can search the PDF document using the [Ctrl]+F key combination.

Do you work in metalwork and engineering (Metaal & Techniek)?

When you download your annual statement, you will receive an additional statement. You must also complete this form (page two of the download) and submit it to your employer. You do not need to complete this additional statement if you work in the following subsectors: motor vehicles (Motorvoertuigen), tyres and wheels (Banden en Wielen), marine equipment (Scheepsbenodigheden), or petrol stations/car wash (Tankstations/autowasbedrijven).

Are you retired or on benefits?

Unfortunately, if this is the case you cannot benefit from the scheme. The reimbursement of part of the union fees only applies to workers. This is because the scheme is governed by the CAO.
