The Federatie Nederlandse Vakbeweging (FNV – federation of Dutch trade unions), registered at 159 Hertogswetering, Utrecht, 3543 AS, the Netherlands, is responsible for the processing of personal data as shown in this privacy policy. 

We respect the privacy of all members, users, and visitors to the FNV website. 
We ensure that the personal data you provide the FNV with is treated confidentially.  

Personal data processed by the FNV  

The FNV processes the personal data you provide because you use or want to use the FNV services. Below you will find an overview of the personal data that we process:

a. To register your membership 

For this, we use the following personal data:

b. Handling your contribution 

For this, we use the following personal data:

  • Membership number 
  • Bank account number  

c. Sending the FNV newsletter and/or magazine

d. To contact you where this is necessary for the provision of FNV services 

For this, we use your:

e. When you request (legal) help or mediation from the FNV 

For this, we use your:

  • Legal and/or medical file 

f. If we are legally obliged to do so, 

for example, data that the FNV may need for tax returns.  

We process your personal data for the purposes referred to under a to e above on the basis of your consent. We process your personal data for the purpose referred to under f on the basis of a legal obligation.  

How long do we store personal data for?  

The FNV does not store your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected. With regard to the purposes referred to under a to f above, we use the following retention periods:

Transmission of personal data to third parties  

The FNV only transmits personal data to third parties if this is necessary for the realisation of the purpose of the processing or to comply with a legal obligation.  
We conclude a processing agreement with companies that process your data on behalf of the FNV to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. The FNV remains responsible for these processing operations.  

The FNV does not sell your data to third parties.

The FNV uses functional, analytical, and tracking cookies.

You have the right to view, amend, rectify, or erase your personal data as well as to receive an explanation of what we do with this personal data.  
You also have the right to withdraw your consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your data by the FNV.  

Data portability  

You have the right to submit a request to the FNV to transfer your personal data to you or to an organisation mentioned by you. You can request this by contacting the Contact Centre or by e-mailing  

To ensure that the request has been submitted by you, we ask you to enclose a copy of your proof of identity with the request. Mark your passport photo, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport, passport number, and Citizen Service Number (BSN) black in this copy. This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your submitted request within four weeks.
