It was a close call, but in the end, enough countries ratified the Hong Kong Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships. One of the most dangerous industries in the world—shipbreaking—will now become safer and more environmentally friendly. For over fifteen years, Mondiaal FNV has fought for the convention and for better working conditions for shipbreakers. What did Mondiaal FNV and its partners do to achieve this success? In our annual report we look back at how Mondiaal FNV and its partners have worked to improve the working conditions of millions of people in Africa, Asia, Latin America and MENA region. In 'Annual Stories' you will find a compilation of stories from our partners; about improving the work and lives of workers. We also present our financial report.
